by Michael Webster Investigative Reporter

June 2, 2008 6:00 p.m. PST

U.S. Currency confiscated in traffic stop by El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Back in January of this year the El Paso Journal reported that an El Paso County sheriff’s deputy pulled over a Freightliner Tractor Trailer on Friday Aug 18, 2008 at I-10 mile marker 45 in the eastern part of EL Paso county. While conducting a search of the trailer he discovered about $1 million in cash.

The sheriff’s dept claims a deputy pulled the tractor-trailer over at about 2:48 p.m. After noticing the vehicle was “weaving in and out of traffic,” sheriff’s spokesman Rick Glancey said. Plant A Billion Trees Campaign

A campaign to plant a billion new trees is being welcomed by environmentalists, but with a warning by some that in certain regions it could do more harm than good.

While the campaign claims that each tree uses up 26 pounds of co2 emissions and in return produces enough oxygen for a family of four, planting the right trees is important to help the world improve her ecological and environment balance.

In areas that historically have suffered from a lack of rain, and in areas where global warming could potentially produce deserts, new trees that use a lot of water could have a serious affect on their biodiversity.

Reaping Results With Efforts of the War on Drugs and Terror

BY MICHAEL WEBSTER: INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER Oct 12, 2008 1:00 PM PDT

The war on drugs is a war on terror and the war on terror is a war on drugs. They are interwoven and law enforcement believes they are inseparable. The Taliban and Al-Qaeda  are growing poppies and producing heroin in Afghanistan and distributing those drugs via ships, aircraft and ground mules to Iraq, Turkey, Europe and Mexico to help raise cash.

Countries in South America like Columbia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia are growing, producing and distributing cocaine to Mexican drug cartels that in turn have Mexican and American gangs distribute throughout the United States, Europe and other countries around the world.

According to Michael A. Braun, DEA Chief Read the rest of this entry »
