Southern Spain is too good to be true; it has a large desirable coastline, a fantastic natural environment, one of the healthiest climates in the world and is culturally rich. Its geographic location gives it easy reach from Northern Europe.

As a result there is simply nothing to beat a gorgeous Spanish Villa for holiday rental. A villa rental that has a pool and an air conditioning system is an absolute must in order to keep cool on those hot, lazy Mediterranean summer days. A holiday in Spain, in one of the Costa regions is what we would term enjoying the good life to the max.

A villa rental in the Costa Blanca region (white coast) is considered one of the premier locations on this coastline, as it offers a great climate and also has close proximity to its two major airports at Murcia (San Javier) and Alicante (El Altet) which are both well served by several budget airlines. The Costa Blanca offers several attractions and the nearby cities of Javea, Murcia, Alicante and Torrevieja offer plenty for the discerning tourist to enjoy.

A Costa Blanca villa rental generates high demand for many months of the year, especially between June and September, getting rented out on average for about 500 pounds a week. Rates do however vary according to size of property, amenities and of location.
The highest demand rentals in Costa Blanca are in the lush mountainous and up market resorts of Javea, Denia and Altea in the north, and the cheaper lower lying areas of Torrevieja, and Alicante in the south.

A coastal property with access to a communal pool will generate higher rental rates than a rural inland one with a private pool. The most luxurious villas have heated pools (for out of season), Jacuzzis, beautiful interiors/furniture and a daily maid service. To those with a monetary budget, most villas provide the essentials- satellite television (for English language), video/CD player, air conditioning and a microwave.

Once a delightful Costa Blanca villa rental has been discovered, it is time to start making travel and holiday arrangements. As the summer season is the most popular time to visit, it is strongly advisable to book flights well in advance. It must be remembered that fourteen million people visit the Costa’s each year and presently there are around two hundred thousand resident British people.

On arrival, it is best to hire a car as it gives you most flexibility and freedom. Driving here is easy. Just remember to stay on the right hand side of the road (if you come from UK!) If car hire is not your chosen mode of transport, then there are numerous buses, trains and even taxis to choose from.

One of the Costa Blanca’s greatest attractions is its abundance of nature. In Javea there is the natural park of Montgo, which is located right on the sea. This park contains some flora and fauna that makes it a fabulous world heritage site. To be seen here are several rare birds as well as hundreds of rare plant species.

In nearby, Benidorm there are several attractions for families with children, notably the theme parks of Terra Mitica for white knuckle rides, Aqualandia for water slides, and Mundomar, a marine animal park. Benidorm truly is Blackpool in the sun.

The Mar Menor, south of Torrevieja, is the biggest saltwater lagoon in Europe. It is truly fascinating and is also home to the world renowned La Manga club. The Mar Menor is actually a large piece of shallow sea which has been separated from the main Mediterranean Sea by a long narrow strip of land. It is those warm, sheltered waters which attracts visitors from all over the world to its health spa benefits.

The La Manga resort offers several luxury attractions, ranging from high class restaurants to top of the range sports facilities and casinos. If all the coastal attractions of the Costa Blanca are too much for you, why not try a villa rental in the countryside?

Inland country properties tend to have bigger plot sizes, perhaps with a few fruit orchards or even a tennis court for the lucky few. In the Costa Blanca, most rural properties are actually within 30 minutes from the coast and so hiring a car is a must.

The Costa Blanca, Spain is absolutely full of hidden gems, villa rentals on offer with delightful gardens, terraces and pool areas, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It truly is an affordable dream holiday destination and definitely not out of reach for most families in the UK.

David Sanborn, the richly talented Smooth Jazz artist has released his latest CD titled Inside and Wow! It’s good.

I wish it weren’t the case but it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Inside. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Inside has a pleasantly varied, mix of 10 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is with this level of talent even if Smooth Jazz isn’t your favorite genre you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

If you’re even mildly into Smooth Jazz music you’ll enjoy this CD. Overall Inside is a great release. I give it my double thumbs up. You will not be disappointed with one single track.

While the entire CD is outstanding some of my favorites are track 2, Daydreaming, track 4 Brother Ray, and track 5, When I’m with You.

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 9, Ain’t No Sunshine featuring Sting. Outstanding rendition from these two giants!

Inside Release Notes:

David Sanborn originally released Inside on March 23, 1999 on the Elektra Entertainment record label.

CD Track List Follows:

1. Corners (For Herbie) 2. Daydreaming – (featuring Cassandra Wilson) 3. Trance 4. Brother Ray 5. Lisa 6. When I’m With You – (featuring Lalah Hathaway) 7. Naked Moon 8. Cane 9. Ain’t No Sunshine – (featuring Sting) 10. Miss You

Personnel include: David Sanborn (sopranino & alto saxophones); Marcus Miller (vocals, clarinet, bass clarinet, sitar, electric piano, Fender Rhodes, keyboards, guitar, bass, fretless bass, synthesizer, drum programming); Cassandra Wilson, Sting, Lalah Hathaway, Eric Benet (vocals); Michael Brecker, Lenny Pickett (tenor saxophone); Ronnie Cuber (baritone saxophone); Wallace Roney (trumpet); Hank Roberts (cello); Gil Goldstein (electric piano); Ricky Peterson (Hammond B-3 organ); David Issac (keyboards, drum & percussion programming); Fareed Haque (acoustic guitar); Dean Brown (acoustic steel & electric guitars); Bill Frisell (guitar); Martin Sewell (National Resaphonic guitar); Gene Lake (drums); Don Alias (percussion). Engineers include: David Isaac, Dean Sharenow, Malcolm Pollack. Recorded at Camel Island Studios, Los Angeles, California; Avatar Studios, Sound On Sound, Hiatus Studio, and Electric Lady Studios, New York, New York.

Wedding invitations are one of things couples begin to think about as they plan their wedding. Here, we give you a few creative wedding invitation ideas to make sure that your invitations project the right tone and personality for you and the kind of wedding you plan to have.

Incorporating technology is a great creative wedding invitation idea because it allows you to send unique, up to date, invitations that your friends and family will admire. For instance, you can use technology to create CDs with pictures of you and your special someone. Then, simply insert a title page in the CD case with the wedding information. A similar idea is to put your favorite love songs on the CD. You can also add the music to a slideshow of your pictures. Some couples even enjoy this creative wedding invitation idea: a complete bucking of tradition by emailing their wedding invitations which will allow for easy sharing of pictures and for guests to reply easily.

If you prefer to stay more traditional but still want creative wedding invitations, you could consider incorporating dried and pressed flowers into the invitations themselves. This idea can add to the theme of your wedding, because you can choose flowers that match the flower arrangements and bouquets of your wedding ceremony. Not only that, but your guests will have a preview of your wedding style.

Many of today’s brides take a cue from the popular hobby of scrapbooking when trying to come up with a new and original wedding invitation idea. Try layering textured and patterned papers under the text of your wedding invitation. This will give you a invitation that is personalized and unique.

If you’re skilled with photoshop or know someone who is, you can alter and style your wedding invitations in a unique way. You could also include items related to nature or even a type of chain to symbolize the binding of two lives that occurs within the marriage ceremony.

When choosing informal wedding photography , there are a number of key factors to take into account:

Experience – Has this person photographed other weddings? Does he/she do this for a living or for fun? Are there any testimonials, and previous customers with examples of the work?

Photographic Style – There are many photographic styles you can choose from thses include, photojournalism, formal, classic, and so on. Its also possible to have colour or black and white and a number of variations, its best to look as some examples to help you decide whats best for you.

Misleading advertising – When you are choosing informal wedding photography its important to check that the person you make contact with is actually the photographer that will be attending your wedding, many photographers sub work out to free lance or other photographers (quite normal) be sure you have met the actual photographer who will be doing your wedding and have seen examples or their work specifically.

Appearance – Check with the photographer how he/she intends to dress, its important for most that the photographers appearance is suitable for attending their wedding.

Price – Although, the last thing you want to do is shop by price, its important you are fully aware of the costs, make sure you know whats included in the price, and if you have to pay for any extras such as pictures on cd, albums, reprints, additional copies etc.

Delivery – Check how long it will take to produce and deliver the finished works, if your getting married abroad, check the delivery will cover international and is secure.

Contract – Make sure you fully understand whats in the contract, who owns rights to the pictures etc, if there should be a dispute at any point, only whats written in the contract will count.

Deposits and payments – What does it say about cancellations and the photographer not being there? If the photographer protests, ask him why? This is one area NOT to take lightly. Having a photographer not show up or worse not show up and take your deposit, it is not something you want to deal with on your wedding day.

Other points to consider:

– Has the photogrpaher shot a wedding at this venue before?

– Do you use an assistant?

– Do you bring spare equipment and is it the same quality as the main equipment?

– What time will you start and how long will you stay?

– When will the proofs be ready?

– Do we get to keep the proofs?

– Do you mark your proofs?

– Where and how are your proofs marked?

– How much extra for unmarked proofs?

– Do we get to keep our negatives or originals on CD or dvd?

– How long do you keep the negatives and will you sell them to us?

– Do you use digital photography?

– Do you have tele-photo and wide-angle lenses?

– Can you work from a photo list that we provide?

– How will you be dressed?

– Do you process and develop your own film and prints and or edit your own digital images

– Can you touch up and enhance images using digital software? Does this cost extra?

Whats in the contract?

– The name of your photographer

– The time that he/she starts and finishes.

– The number of proofs you will view in order to pick your enlargements

– The description of the package you ordered

– A list of guaranteed prices for enlargements, re-prints etc

– The cutoff date for prices quoted.

– All additional charges, travel etc – make sure the exact cost is shown on the contract.

– An explanation of what happens if the photographer doesn’t show up.

– The date and deposit amount and how much is still owing.

– Your name, address and phone number. The addresses of the ceremony and reception locations

Of all the kinds and styles of photography being practiced today, sports photography is probably the most exciting—not to mention the most difficult—of all. Since this kind of photography involves so much speed and action, photographing the subjects or players would require more than the usual knack for good angles but also the strength to endure physical limitations during the shoot.

Sports photography usually include shots that are taken during the game or while the subjects are in their respective field. Aiming to “freeze” moments during the actual event, sports photographers should be equipped with the right photography equipment, trained with enduring tenacity, and fueled with an overwhelming desire to capture each moment and emotion at their best.
<br />
PHOTOGRAPHING DIFFERENT KINDS OF SPORTS

The best thing about sports photography is that the photographer can freeze a single moment that contains pure and raw emotion and share it with the public in print. If you’re into photography and quite interested in taking adrenaline-pumping shots, you should familiarize yourself with different kinds of sports first. Since each sport varies, the styles and techniques used in capturing and freezing each moment also vary.

If you are already in the field taking photos, it is a must that you have a brief background about the sport you are covering. Knowledge in the fundamentals of coaching style, sport rules, and players will help you identify their most interesting angles. It is also a must to identify your “safety” (a shot that is easy to shoot and can be published if you don’t get good photos all throughout).

Here are some basic sports photography guidelines fit for common sports:

1. Baseball. Most seasoned sports photographers would agree that baseball is one sport that is hardest to shoot because of its unpredictability. Make sure that you get your safety first before getting experimental shots.

2. Basketball. Unlike baseball, this is the easiest sport to shoot because you only have to focus on two subjects: the player who handles the ball and the net. But its simplicity limits you to different angles, so make sure you get plenty of shots to choose from.

3. Football. This is another easy sport to shoot but it is considered as the most equipment intense sports because it would require waiting for the perfect shot. Although it’s easy to get safeties, it’s still up to you to produce action shots that would be a stand up.

4. Soccer and Hockey. Because of the speed and sudden movements involved in these sports, auto focus cameras are recommended.

5. Volleyball. Although it is one of the rarely covered sports events, volleyball is also one of favorites because dramatic shots can be derived all throughout. Since moves in the sports are quite tricky, make sure that you turn your camera’s auto focus on.

6. Golf. It’s hard to shoot photos during the game due to the nature of the game itself. What you can do is to camp at one location and take shots as players pass by or use a cart to follow the individual players.

7. Track and Field. Though access can be limited, this is one sport that is fun to shoot because movements are predictable and easy to shoot. All you need is good timing.

8. Gymnastics and Figure Skating. One basic rule in these sports: NO FLASH. Since they involve individuals performing, the use of flash is restricted because it distracts the players. The major problem you’ll encounter is lighting but this can be solved once the venue is lit up.

9. Motorsports and Racing Events. These are fairly easy to photograph because you can get away with slower lenses. But since you’re far from the track, you need longer lenses for the shoot.

When entering into a Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography agreement, you need to be sure that you’re getting the services that you need at the price that you are willing to pay. To ensure that both parties get what they want from the exchange, a contract is necessary. This binding piece of paper will make sure that your Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography service knows what you want and is bound to complete their obligations to your satisfaction.

The key to your Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography contract is that you select a photographer you trust right from the start. This would be someone that’s never had a complaint filed against them and who is trusted by other parents that you know. To find someone you trust you need to interview them extensively and be sure that any certifications they list are legitimate. While this process takes time, it also takes away the headaches that you will have if you choose the first photographer that you meet.

When it comes down to the contract that you will both be signing, you have two options: use their contract form or create your own. If you want to use their standard Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography contract, you will want to read it over carefully before you end up signing it. Some of the lines in the contract may not be applicable to your situation so they should be crossed out and other
things that you need to agree upon may not be included due to your special needs.Read and reread this contract before you sign it. There should also be spaces for you to make changes and add in personal information that is relevant to the bar mitzvah activities.

You can also choose to create your own contract form for the Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography agreement. This is a more difficult route to choose as you will need to make sure that everything you want is included. But then again, it can also be specialized to your situation. This contract should include the dates of service, services required, what is expected in terms of the overall bill, a note about the cancellation of services, terms of the printing and developing of the photos, etc. This is something that you should make sure to spend time on and even talk to someone that’s qualified in handling similar contract cenarios.

To keep things legal and legitimate, you can have someone notarize it or witness the signing of this contract. While most Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography businesses do not insist upon this, it can help to keep things more formal and binding. When you have multiple people looking at who has agree to the terms of your contract, it’s much easier to go back and fight something that was not done properly.

And in the end, you should have multiple copies made of the contract – one for you and one for the business as well as a separate copy in another location – maybe with your rabbi? This will keep the terms spelled out for the Chicagoland Bar Mitzvah photography business and be available should anything need to be
checked.

While the world pays respectful tribute to Rembrandt the artist, it has been compelled to wait until comparatively recent years for some small measure of reliable information concerning Rembrandt the man. Rembrandt was born in the pleasant city of Leyden, but it is not easy to name the precise year. Somewhere between 1604 and 1607 he started his troubled journey through life, and of his childhood the records are scanty. Doubtless, his youthful imagination was stirred by the sights of the city, the barges moving slowly along the canals, the windmills that were never at rest, the changing chiaroscuro of the flooded, dyke-seamed land. Perhaps he saw these things with the large eye of the artist, for he could not have turned to any point of the compass without finding a picture lying ready for treatment.

His family soon knew that he had the makings of an artist and, in 1620, when he could hardly have been more than sixteen, and may have been considerably less, he left Leyden University for the studio of a second-rate painter called Jan van Swanenburch. We have no authentic record of his progress in the studio, but it must have been rapid. He must have made friends, painted pictures, and attracted attention. At the end of three years he went to Lastman’s studio in Amsterdam, returning thence to Leyden, where he took Gerard Dou as a pupil. A several years later, it is not easy to settle these dates on a satisfactory basis, he went to Amsterdam, and established himself there, because the Dutch capital was very wealthy and held many patrons of the arts, in spite of the seemingly endless war that Holland was waging with Spain.

His art remained true and sincere, he declined to make the smallest concession to what silly sitters called their taste, but he did not really know what to do with the money and commissions that flowed in upon him so freely. The best use he made of changing circumstances was to become engaged to Saskia van Uylenborch, the cousin of his great friend Hendrick van Uylenborch, the art dealer of Amsterdam. Saskia, who was destined to live for centuries, through the genius of her husband, seems to have been born in 1612, and to have become engaged to Rembrandt when she was twenty. The engagement followed very closely upon the patronage of Rembrandt by Prince Frederic Henry, the Stadtholder, who instructed the artist to paint three pictures.

Saskia is enshrined in many pictures. She is seen first as a young girl, then as a woman. As a bride, in the picture now at Dresden, she sits upon her husband’s knee, while he raises a big glass with his outstretched arm. Her expression here is rather shy, as if she deprecated the situation and realised that it might be misconstrued. This picture gave offence to Rembrandt’s critics, but some portraits of Saskia remained to be painted. She would seem to have aged rapidly, for after marriage her days were not long in the land. She was only 30 when she died, and looked much older.

In 1638 we find Rembrandt taking an action against one Albert van Loo, who had dared to call Saskia extravagant. It was, of course, still more extravagant of Rembrandt to waste his money on lawyers on account of a case he could not hope to win, but this thought does not seem to have troubled him. He did not reflect that it would set the gossips talking more cruelly than ever. Still full of enthusiasm for life and art, he was equally full of affection for Saskia, whose hope of raising children seemed doomed to disappointment, for in addition to losing the little Rombertus, two daughters, each named Cornelia, had died soon after birth. In 1640 Rembrandt’s mother died. Her picture remains on record with that of her husband, painted ten years before, and even the biographers of the artist do not suggest that Rembrandt was anything but a good son. A year later the well-beloved Saskia gave birth to the one child who survived the early years, the boy Titus. Then her health failed, and in 1642 she died, after eight years of married life that would seem to have been happy. In this year Rembrandt painted the famous “Night Watch,” a picture representing the company of Francis Banning Cocq, and incidentally a day scene in spite of its popular name. The work succeeded in arousing a storm of indignation, for every sitter wanted to have equal prominence in the canvas.

It may be said that after Saskia’s death, and the exhibition of this fine work, Rembrandt’s pleasant years came to an end. He was then somewhere between thirty-six and thirty-eight years old, he had made his mark, and enjoyed a very large measure of recognition, but henceforward, his career was destined to be a very troubled one, full of disappointment, pain, and care. Perhaps it would have been no bad thing for him if he could have gone with Saskia into the outer darkness. The world would have been poorer, but the man himself would have been spared many years that perhaps even the devoted labours of his studio could not redeem.

Between 1642, when Saskia died, and 1649, it is not easy to continue his life; we can only state with certainty that his difficulties increased almost as quickly as his work ripened. His connection with Hendrickje Stoffels would seem to have started about 1649, and this woman with whom he lived until her death some thirteen years later, has been abused by many biographers because she was the painter’s mistress.

He has left to the world some 600 pictures that are admitted to be genuine, together with the etchings and drawings to which reference has been made. He is to be seen in many galleries in the Old World and the New, for he painted his own portrait more than a score of times. So Rembrandt has been raised in our days to the pinnacle of fame which is his by right; the festival of his tercentenary was acknowledged by the whole civilised world as the natural utterance of joy and pride of our small country in being able to count among its children the great Rembrandt.

DVR – Digital Video Recorder

Do you often worry about missing your favorite television program? Have you ever tried to set up your VCR to record a program only to discover you don’t have any blank videotapes available? All of these problems can be avoided with the newest invention in recording. DVR is the latest technology enabling you to record television shows for later viewing. DVR, Digital Video Recording, allows many more options than the VCR that so many consumers have utilized to record their favorite shows. This new technology allows you to have total control over your television viewing experience.
With DVR technology, you have the ability to pause and rewind live television, fast forward through recorded commercials, and easily find and record your favorite show. In fact with your DVR, you can set it to record the entire season of your favorite show with just the click of a few buttons. You will no longer have to be concerned with missing portions of your favorite show because dinner is burning or someone is at your door. With the push of a button, you can even pause a live television show for up to thirty minutes!
A DVR stores all video on internal memory eliminating the need for videotapes that must be labeled and stored. The amount of recording time available varies depending on the model you choose. Many offer at least 70 hours of recording time with some offering 200 hours or more. Some DVR receivers even allow you to record your favorite programming regardless of whether day or times or broadcast change.
Perhaps the most recognizable name in DVR is TiVo®. TiVo® works with cable, satellite or even antennae services. With TiVo®, there is a charge for the box, generally $200-$300 along with a monthly charge for the service. TiVo® offers many more features than other DVR systems including recording to DVD and online scheduling from the internet. With TiVo® service, you can easily search for your favorite programs by actor, genre, or even keywords. With their newly introduced search features, you can record programs based on your favorite subjects. For instance, if you search for “hot rods,” every show featuring hot rods in the description will be displayed and you can choose which ones to record days ahead of time. DIRECTV satellite service also offers a DVR with TiVo® combined so you can take advantage of the benefits of both services.
If you have satellite service through DISH Network or DIRECTV, the DVR is a must have to be sure you don’t miss any programming. Unlike with TiVo®, DVRs through your satellite service can often be received for free or at a reduced price during special promotions. That translates into big savings over the TiVo® service. There may also be a small monthly subscription charge depending on the programming package that you choose through your satellite television provider. Along with the above mentioned features, the DVR through your satellite service provider will enable you to watch one program while recording up to two others.
With a DVR, you may never have to watch commercials again. Streamline your television viewing experience with this latest technology. It is time for you to be in control of the programming that comes into your home. With a DVR, now you can be again.
