No CommentsTelevision Weddings Shows Are Starting To Build A Vowed Following
With the divorce rate having been so huge everywhere for some time now, it makes one wonder about all the publicity that weddings have been getting on television these days.
It seems that every where you look there is a new show about weddings. Weddings that involve celebrities have always held fascination for the general public, but today we love to watch anyone get married.
One of the first sources that we had for watching clips from the weddings of everyday people came from America’s Funniest Videos. We got to see some of the most outrageous moments that weddings had to offer. It is amazing that some of these couples survived some of the accidents that took Read the rest of this entry »

A Lot Like Love – 2 Stars (Average)
“A Lot Like Love” chronicles the indecision of two young adults who are misguided and muddled in both their careers and love life. They haul off and do nothing with themselves and then wonder why they are not happy. No wonder they are confused about love.
Perhaps they represent too many young adults today, bouncing around like a small metal ball in a pinball contest. Small in thought, small in words and small in deeds.
Drifting, detached, uncommitted, meaningless and terribly out of touch with themselves and everyone around them.
This is Hollywood, of course, and so they do have unplanned sex Read the rest of this entry »
No CommentsHome Recording Studio – Part 1
With the digital revolution happening in the music world today, it would be a sin to not consider the home recording project as an alternative to big expensive recording studio’s. But the question remains, what should I buy to get started?
First of all you have to decide the appropriate location of your recording studio, it could be a garage, a basement, a living room, or even your bedroom. This question must be answered before you buy anything. If you choose your garage for example, you’ll have to think of maybe soundproofing it, so you’ll have a minimum of control over the reflective sounds coming from the surrounding walls. If it’s in a apartment living room, you’ll have to Read the rest of this entry »
No CommentsThe Digital Songwriter
A whole new style of composing music and writing lyrics has arrived in the form of digital songwriting.
By using hi tech home studio equipment and software, you can now record your music and lyrics at the same time as you actually write your songs.
In the Sixties and Seventies, the most any young songwriter could have hoped for, would have been a 10/50/50 song deal with a music publisher – any music publisher. Whether or not the songs would have been published was another matter. At that time, the ratio of works accepted but not actually published, may have been less than eight in every hundred. In reality, most songs acquired by publishers were left on the Read the rest of this entry »
No CommentsDefining the True Artist
There are musicians who are more than comfortable remaining anonymous. You know, happy to hide behind their guitars or keyboards and be sidemen to the stars of today or tomorrow. Then there are those that have grandiose aspirations of stardom, adoration and limelight. And then there are those who have a driving desire and need to say something original artistically, to express themselves and to communicate that expression to an audience, be it a small niche market or wider demographic.
Those falling into the first category can make a living, albeit fairly modest as a general rule. Those falling into the second category often live in a little bit of a dream world and, depending on their tenacity and Read the rest of this entry »

No CommentsMartina Steckholzer – Paintings – the Saatchi Gallery
Martina Steckholzer uses as a source for her paintings, video footage which she films in exhibition halls, museums, art fairs and artist’s studios – all places where art is seen or made. The filming is sometimes random where she moves the camera around the space without looking through the lens and sometimes more specific when she points the camera at something she finds interesting. In both cases, her purpose is to catch images hidden from our usual gaze – images that could only be seen through the lens of the camera and caught on the still of the video footage. Martina Steckholzer’s paintings offer a poetic ambience suggesting an infinite nothingness of space. Working from video footage filmed in art Read the rest of this entry »
No CommentsTop 5 Questions to Ask When Hiring Wedding Music
By Kevin Kinyon
Think back 20 years. Can you imagine trying to locate musicians for a wedding reception in 1987? There was no Internet, no streaming video and no online audio clips. The search was basically limited to your local Yellow Pages, or nights on end of running all over town so you could listen to prospective DJs or bands perform live at clubs.
If your town (or another close by) didn’t have a band or DJ you liked, you were out of luck. There was no viable way to locate entertainment all across the country. Thankfully, today we do have the Internet. This allows you to have a huge Read the rest of this entry »
